Counseling Diverse and At-Risk Clients-Alex Botchen
Here is a picture in my office of my certificate for Student Enhancement Training (SET). The training is for student employees under UCF's SDES umbrella. One of the trainings was Diversity and Inclusion where we learned about the importance of celebrating diversity, inclusion of other, and the need for social justice and advocacy. Many of the things I learned in the workshop, I will be able to use when I am a school counselor for the need to better understand myself so that I can understand others to why it is important to be as open and diverse as possible.

Week 13-Counseling with Families-Alex Botchen
This is an old family portrait of all of the Botchen family that was taken probably in 1997. As a family, we all have been very close and even my uncles and aunts have had a large hand in the upbringing of my brother and I. As I have grown, I do see that personality wise, I can see several different facets that is similar to most if not all of my relatives. If school counselors have access to all the people the child considers their immediate family, they would have more of a story to follow as to how to best help the student be successful.
Week 12 Wellness in Children and Adolescence-Alex Botchen
Here is a snap shot of the lesson I developed and taught for the MicroTeach lesson of EDG 6415. It was a middle school lesson in conjunction with their PE health class on what stress was and how to deal with stress. As a part of the lesson, I introduced the Wellness Wheel and led a discussion as to how they can incorporate each of the dimensions of wellness when they are feeling stressed.

Weslee Aristor- Cultural and Ethical Diversity
This is a picture of the bathroom at the Dubai airport. My sister is currently there on vacation and sent me this picture. I had my reactions to it at first until I thought of how citizens of that country would react to our toilets.

Kushner - Working with families
This is kind of a play on words because my sister and I used to teach at the same school ("working with families") but this is a real-life scenario where communication among family members was not present and we came to work wearing the exact same thing... The kids loved it- us not so much.
