REBT - Monique Badal

Week 8 REBT-Rico Feliciano

Week 8- REBT (Kristen Guske)

Week 8- REBT

The importance of building a relationship really struck a chord with me while reading this chapter. It made me reflect on where I started with my student staff, and where we are now. Different students are going to have different needs, and its important to build a relationship with them. Even if that means hosting an Olympics themed team building activity:)

Week 8 REBT- Tara Carlsen

I would choose to do guided imagery or mindfulness with my client. I have used scenery from my past to help myself and other clients during guided imagery. Creating a peaceful place.

Week 7-Alex Botchen

One of the biggest things I try to find in life is humor in everything. If I can make people smile and happy, I know I am doing good in the world. When I saw that Solution-Focused Therapy is rooted in humor, I knew I would think highly of SFBT. This picture is one that I had for a while. There has been a long standing joke for years with my mother and I. I would say something Smart-alecky and er answer would always be "What do you know about City Hall". When I was younger she said I would be so mad at her.

"If it's not broken, do not fix it."

Week 7- Solution Focused ( Kristen Guske)

One of the keys to Solution- Focused Therapy is " If it works, do more of it.".  When I took over as a new supervisor, my students never felt appreciated or motivated by their previous supervisor. To motivate my building managers to go that extra mile in their day to day job, they were given stickers. They loved being able to compete with their other team members.

Week 6-Alex Botchen

One of my favorite things about Adlerian theory is the part about the birth order. I probably like it so much because I see a lot of truth in it. Here is a picture of my brother and I. He is helping me with something right before I graduate with my Bachelors. I am the more organized logical one and my brother is the free spirit rebel. At times we really are polar opposites of each other, but that is what makes us who we are and we would not want it any differently!!

Adlerian - Lauren Rhinehart

I chose this picture for Adlerian counseling because in the chapter it talked about birth order, family atmosphere and early recollections to help in exploring the client's lifestyle. My brother (far right) and I exhibit the typical birth order personality traits, I am the oldest.  However, my cousins are the complete opposite, my youngest cousin and I are most alike.  We grew up very close, but because of different family atmospheres we have all had completely different experiences.  It is important to explore different aspects of your client's life because they are an individual like no one else with experiences and beliefs that have shaped their personality and behaviors.

Iliana Ulfe: Week 6, Adlerian Therapy

  • Birth order analysis
    • The dominant (F), more conservative (F), less responsible (L) first-born
    • Multiple roles for me:
      • The more dependent (L); socially apprehensive (L); more responsible (F); achievement-oriented (F); less carefree (F) last child between my brother and I only
      • The strong, stable middle adult (child) that emphasizes justice and fairness and that is always looking for where she fits in between my brother and my older ex stepsister (in the past) as well as between him and my younger stepsister
  • Family atmosphere: More cooperative with our mother and more competitive with our father and stepmother (as one example)
  • Family constellations: The fun-loving children, my brother and my younger stepsister, and the moreso studious sibling, me; the rebellious adolescent, my brother, and the conformist younger family members, my younger stepsister and me (as two examples)

Week 6- Adlerian Therapy- Carwile

Adler focuses on birth order. My sister Danielle (pictured on the right) is my "little" (even though she's taller than me) sister and the "baby" of the family. I'm the older and typically, more responsible child. She has followed me in high school and now has followed me to college at UCF. However, she is a political science- pre-law and sociology double major. We are two totally DIFFERENT people but we both love Disney.

Week 6- Alderian Therapy-Kristen Guske

This is a picture of my siblings and me. This picture is so funny to me because it perfectly describes our birth order. You see me in the middle, taking care of the youngest brother ( which I still do). My middle brother grinning on the left, because he is always happy and carefree. Lastly, my youngest brother crying...he has always been the sensitive one.
